New markets.
Lasting prosperity.

We turn unmet needs into new markets — unlocking economic opportunity and building prosperity where it’s needed most.

What we do

We turn unmet needs into new markets.

We combine world-class innovation strategy with deep human understanding to discover overlooked opportunities, design commercially viable solutions, and help build businesses that create lasting economic value.

Find overlooked opportunities

We see potential where others see limitations — starting with people to uncover unmet needs and identify opportunities for markets that don't yet exist.

Apply world-class innovation

We bring proven innovation frameworks, rigorous research, and disciplined business design to challenges conventional markets have left unresolved.

Build for lasting impact

We go beyond strategy and partner to develop, test, and launch businesses designed to sustain themselves while creating meaningful economic opportunity.

Who we serve

Opportunity for those the market has overlooked.

We work with entrepreneurs, communities, organizations, and institutions seeking to unlock economic potential and create new pathways to prosperity.

Founders

Entrepreneurs with the vision to create something meaningful, but without access to the expertise, resources, or networks to bring it to market.

Communities & NGOs

Community leaders, cooperatives, and organizations working to turn local needs, assets, and aspirations into sustainable economic opportunity.

Institutions & nations

Governments and institutions seeking to unlock underserved markets, strengthen local economies, and create prosperity at scale.

Underserved markets

People and communities whose needs remain unmet by conventional markets, but whose potential for participation, innovation, and growth is significant.

ethnos

Why Ethnos

The name Ethnos is rooted in ethnology — the study of peoples and cultures.

We believe meaningful innovation begins with understanding people. Before creating solutions a community truly wants, can use, and is willing to pay for, we must first understand that community — its needs, aspirations, values, and circumstances — on its own terms.

We don't begin with solutions and search for people to buy them. We begin with people, understand the progress they're trying to make, and build markets around needs that have gone unmet.

What we believe

Prosperity isn't given.
It's built.

We believe lasting prosperity emerges when people have the opportunity to participate in markets — as consumers, producers, entrepreneurs, and owners.

Traditional approaches can address immediate needs. Market‑creating innovation can go further, building economically sustainable solutions that generate jobs, strengthen communities, and expand opportunity.

Our ambition isn't simply to serve underserved populations. It's to help create the conditions for them to thrive.

We're not building dependence. We're building opportunity.

Our commitments

Local ownership

We empower communities and local entrepreneurs to build, own, and sustain the economic opportunities they create.

Sustainable independence

We design businesses to thrive on their own economics, creating lasting value without ongoing dependence on outside support.

Cultural humility

We begin by listening — respecting the knowledge, values, aspirations, and lived experiences of the communities we serve.

Responsible innovation

We pursue commercially viable solutions that respect people, protect communities, and create meaningful economic value.

Why it matters

A new market doesn't just create demand.
It creates opportunity.

When underserved needs become viable markets, the benefits extend far beyond a transaction. New businesses emerge. Jobs are created. Ownership expands. Prosperity takes root.

Jobs

New businesses and industries create employment, income, and opportunities that previously didn't exist.

Ownership

Entrepreneurs and communities gain opportunities to create, produce, participate, and build economic value.

Prosperity

Sustainable economic activity strengthens communities, expands opportunity, and creates the foundation for lasting growth.

When you create a market, you build a future that outlasts you.
